Specificity and Use
CCR9 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide IPNMADDYGSESTSSMEDYVNFNFTDFYC corresponding to aa 10-38 of human CCR9. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla (100%); Monkey (97%); Gibbon (90%); Marmoset (83%).
Peptide sequence is <50 % identical to other human chemokine receptors in this peptide region. The antibody recognizes human CCR9 and is likely to cross-react to mouse CCR9 due to 75 % homology in this region.
CCR9 is a member of the beta chemokine receptor family. It is predicted to be a seven transmembrane protein similar to G protein-coupled receptors. Chemokines and their receptors are key regulators of the thymocytes migration and maturation in normal and inflammation conditions. The specific ligand of this receptor is CCL25.
