  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

CALB2 / Calretinin antibody was raised against purified guinea pig calretinin.
Recognizes calretinin, a 29kD calcium binding protein found mostly in the central nervous system and retina. It is a cytoplasmic protein involved in the regulation of calcium concentration, which is important in the regulation of a large variety of neuronal functions, including neurotransmitter release, ionic channel permeability, enzyme activity, and gene transcription. Mice deficient in calretinin show impairment in motor coordination. Calretinin has also been shown as a sensitive and specific marker for mast cells.

CALB2 Antibody, 29 kDa calbindin Antibody, CAL2 Antibody, Calretinin Antibody, CAB29 Antibody, Calbindin 2 Antibody, Calbindin D29K Antibody, CR Antibody

Calbindin 2 (calretinin), closely related to calbindin 1, is an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily. Calbindin 1 is known to be involved in the vitamin-D-dependent calcium absorption through intestinal and renal epithelia, while the function of neuronal calbindin 1 and calbindin 2 is poorly understood.
