  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

BTLA / CD272 antibody was raised against bTLA - transfected L cells.
Detects human CD272, also known as B- and T-lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA). CD272 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein which is structurally and functionally related to cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4), and programmed death-1 (PD-1). CD272 is a T-cell inhibitory receptor that regulates T cell activation through its interaction with herpes virus entry mediator (HVEM), a co-stimulator receptor of the TNFR family. CD272 may negatively regulate T-cell dependent autoimmune reaction, and polymorphisms in its gene have been associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Flow Cytometry: Use 10 ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10^6 cells in 100 ul. Method sheets are available on request.

PBS, pH 7.4, 0.09% sodium azide.

BTLA / CD272 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein contains a single immunoglobulin (Ig) domain and is a receptor that relays inhibitory signals to suppress the immune response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with an increased risk of rheumatoid arthritis.
