  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

BRCA1 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide corresponding to an epitope within amino acid residues 1800-1863 of human BRCA1 (NP_009225.1).
Recognizes human BRCA1 (breast cancer gene 1), a 220kD nuclear phosphoprotein and tumor suppressor, involved in DNA damage repair, recombination and transcriptional regulation. The interaction between BRCA1 and BARD1 (BRCA1 associated RING domain 1) through an amino-terminal RING finger domain, is implicated in RNA processing following DNA damage, and also in the mediation of tumor suppression by BRCA1. Gene mutations in BRCA1 are known to greatly enhance susceptibility to inherited breast, breast-ovarian and prostate cancers, and BRCA1 is therefore commonly used as a diagnostic marker for breast cancer.
Western Blot: LS-C56914 detects a band of approximately 220kD in HeLa cell nuclear extract.

Tris-citrate/phosphate, 0.09% sodium azide.

E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that specifically mediates the formation of 'Lys-6'-linked polyubiquitin chains and plays a central role in DNA repair by facilitating cellular responses to DNA damage. It is unclear whether it also mediates the formation of other types of polyubiquitin chains. The E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase activity is required for its tumor suppressor function.

Western blot

Western blot
Detection of human BRCA1 in HeLa cell nuclear lysate by western blotting and immunoprecipitation with Rabbit anti-Human BRCA1 (LS-C56914).
