Specificity
Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP) is a single chain glycoprotein of 70 kD that is normally expressed in the fetal liver, gastrointestinal tract and yolk sac. recognizes an epitope of alpha- Fetoprotein present in human and several other species. It cross reacts with human, dog and pig but not with bovine, cat, rat and mouse.
