The recombinant human PTN consists of 136 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 15.3 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 19 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. A DNA sequence encoding the mature form of human PTN (NP_002816.1) (Met1-Asp168) was expressed.
