Epitope
Recognizes a 110/90 kDa antigen known as the alpha chain of the vitronectin receptor (VNR). It reacts with osteoclasts, placenta, melanoma cell lines, some epithelia cells, and reacts weakly with platelets; shows no reactivity on fixed tissues.Recognizes the intact complex formed between the CD51 and CD61 molecules (av and b3 integrins). This complex binds vitronectin at the RGD sequence and can also bind von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, thrombospondin, fibronectin, osteopontin and collagen. Cross-reactive with chicken. Does not cross react with porcine, lapine or bovine tissues.
