  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Native human C4 binding protein.
Recognizes complement component 4 binding protein (C4bp). There are three variants of C4bp, composed of alpha and beta chains. The predominant form is a 570 kD complex of 7 alpha chains and 1 beta chain. The other complexes formed are a 530 kD homoheptamer of alpha chains or a 500 kD complex of 6 alpha chains and 1 beta chain. C4bp regulates the activation of the classical complement pathway. It is a cofactor to the C3b/C4b inactivator, crucial to the proteolytic cleavage of C4b and important in cleavage of C3b. C4bp also regulates the C4bC2a complex (C3 convertase), accelerating its degradation by dissociating the complement fragment C2a. Both the C4bp alpha and beta chains interact with anticoagulant protein S and C4bp alpha binds protein S. C4bp is expressed in the blood serum.
Immunohistochemistry: LS-B2251 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B2251 was determined to be 5 ug/ml.

Borate buffered saline, 0.1% sodium azide.

About C4BP / C4b-Binding Protein

C4b-binding protein (C4BP) is a protein involved in the complement system where it acts as inhibitor. C4BP has an octopus-like structure with a central stalk and seven branching alpha-chains. The main form of C4BP in human blood is composed of 7 identical alpha-chains and one unique beta-chain, which in turn binds anticoagulant, vitamin K-dependent protein S. C4BP is a large glycoprotein (500 kDa) with an estimated plasma concentration of 200 micrograms/mL synthesized mainly in the liver.

Anti-C4BP / C4b-Binding Protein antibody IHC of human liver. Immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval. Antibody LS-B2251 concentration 5 ug/ml.
