Human holo-transferrin.

Recognizes human transferrin, also known as beta-1 metal-binding globulin siderophilin or serotransferrin. Transferrin is 647 amino acid ~79 kD iron binding transport glycoprotein involved in iron translocation from sites of degradation to those of storage and utilization. Mutations in the TF gene can lead to the iron overload disorder Atransferrinemia a disease characterized abnormal transferrin production, iron overload and microcytic hypochromic anemia.
