- Recombinant pig interleukin-22 (IL-22) is a recombinant protein corresponding to aa 34-190 of native porcine IL-22. Native porcine IL-22 is a 21.5 kDa regulatory cytokine belonging to the IL-10 cytokine family and is produced in a range of cell types that include activated T cells and dendritic cells. Porcine IL-22 functions in the mediation of inflammatory responses to bacterial pathogens, in particular in epithelial cells of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.
