Epitope
Nature and function of the surface localized antigen are unknown. The antigen failed to immunoprecipitate. Antigen distribution: Isolated cells: The antigen is present on bone marrow myeloid cells (over 60 % of freshly isolated bone marrow cells) including all M-CSF responsive cells. On myeloid cell lines the antigen is highly expressed in cells showing characteristics of cell precursors. Expression of the antigen decreases with maturation of macrophages. Tissue sections: The antigen can be detected in all tissues containing myelopoietic islands. Specificity: Mouse: Myelopoietic cells, all macrophage precursor cells Other species: unknown
