- Antigen Species
- Human
- Epitope
- Antigen Recognized in Species (tested so far) Human, most mammals incl. mouse, rat, rabbit. Specifically recognizes cytokeratin 13 (54kD polypeptide) present in non-cornifying squamous epithelia and in transitional epithelium of the bladder. Epidermal cell culture studies have shown that cytokeratin 13 expression is involved in either the number or the strength of desmosomal contacts between suprabasal cells of stratified squamous epithelia.
