Epitope: Clone AV142 specifically recognizes Chicken IL-2 Receptor alpha chain (IL-2Ralpha) which has been identified as the chicken homologue of human CD25 and is cited as ChCD25 in published literature. Chicken IL-2Ralpha is a cell surface antigen expressed by activated T-lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages and thrombocytes. Studies have demonstrated that CD4+ve/CD25+ve and CD8+ve/CD25+ve cells are up-regulated following infection with avian influenza virus (H9N2) and may therefore have an important role in the immune response to avian influenza virus infection. Chicken IL-2Ralpha is the low affinity receptor for Interleukin-2.
