- Specific for isocitrate dehydrogenase. Isocitrate dehydrogenase is an enzyme involved in the citric acid cycle. It is 416 amino acids long with a molecular weight of approximately 45 kD.
- Epitope
- Binds both Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and DHEAS, demonstrating minimal cross-reactivity with Progesterone and Testosterone. DHEA is the most abundant hormone in the human body and a precursor of all the sex hormones. It is synthesized principally in the adrenal glands and gonads from cholesterol, through conversion to pregnenolone and 17a-Hydroxypregnenolone, by the action of P450 enzymes. DHEA is mainly found in serum as the sulphated form (DHEAS), a reversible reaction catalyzed by sulfotransferase in the adrenal glands, liver and small intestine.
