Specificity
Specifically recognizes an epitope within the C-Terminal (CT) region of the Atg5-Atg12 complex, which plays a key role in the regulation of autophagy, and is emerging as an important factor in the innate immune response to viruses. Studies have shown that the Atg5-Atg12 complex directly interacts with RIG-1 (retinoic acid-inducible gene 1) and the adaptor molecule IPS-1 (IFN-beta promoter stimulator 1), through caspase recruitment domains (CARDs), thereby acting as a negative regulator of the type I IFN production pathway, and as a contributor to RNA viral replication within the host cells.

Recognizes an epitope within the C-Terminal (CT) region of the Atg5-Atg12 complex, which plays a key role in the regulation of autophagy, and is emerging as an important factor in the innate immune response to viruses (Hwang et al. 2012).
