- Epitope
- Detects a ~46-50kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of the proform of caspase-9 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in samples from human, mouse, rat, bovine and sheep. In apoptotic cells, the antibody also detects 35/37kD, 18kD and 10kD proteins which correspond to processed forms of caspase-9. Following the induction of apoptosis and the appearance of these smaller bands, a concurrent reduction in the amount of the procaspase enzyme is noted on immunoblot analysis.
