Specificity and Use
Synthetic peptide, C-terminus 17aa of rat CYP1A2 (ovalbumin).
Reacts with rat cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP1A1 and CYP1A2 on Western Blots of hepatic microsomal fraction. Reacts with rat CYP1A2, but not rat CYP1A1 in ELISA. Will also react with Human CYP1A2, but not Human CYP1A1 on Western Blots. No cross-reactivity with other cytochrome P450 enzymes. Species cross-reactivity: Human and rat.
Suitable for use in Western blot and ELISA. Western Blot: Useful for the simultaneous detection of CYP1A1 and CYP1A2, which can be separated electrophoretically. Will only detect HuCYP1a2 on Western Blots of extracts from human liver microsomes. ELISA: Useful for quantitation of rat CYP1A2. In solution, specifically recognizes CYP1A2, will not recognize rat CYP1A1 or human CYP1A1 and 1A2 proteins. Positive control: Rat hepatic microsomal fraction.
