Specificity and Use
CASP3 / Caspase 3 antibody was raised against full-length recombinant human Caspase 3 protein.
Specific for human Caspase 3. Species cross-reactivity: Does not work in rat or mouse.
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000. A band is seen at ~32kD for the inactive form of Caspase 3 and ~17-22kD for the active form of Caspase 3. Positive control: Human kidney 293 cell lysates.

CASP3 / Caspase 3 is a protein which is a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme.
