Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

UV-irradiated Ad2 virus. MW of Antigen: 62kD (monomer) and 180-200kD (trimer). Epitope: N-terminus, probably the first 17aa.
N-Terminus
Recognizes both monomers and trimers, as judged by reactivity with both boiled (monomers (62kD) only) and unboiled (both monomers and trimers (180-200kD bands)) fiber on Western blots and by indirect immunofluorescence studies of cells infected with a temperature-sensitive Ad5 fiber mutant (H5ts142) which does not form trimers at the nonpermissive temperature at both 32?C and 39.5?C. Species cross-reactivity: Adenovirus.
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Positive control: Adenovirus infected cells and tissues. The applications listed have been tested for the unmodified form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

Packaging

10 mM PBS, pH 7.4.

About Adenovirus Fiber

The adenovirus virion has a unique "spike" or fiber associated with each penton base of the capsid (see picture below) that aids in attachment to the host cell via the receptor on the surface of the host cell. (See Replication Section below for discussion of diverse receptors.)
