Specificity and Use
EIF3K antibody was raised against recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 173 of EIF3K (SwissProt Q9UBQ5). Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Mouse, Bovine (100%); Xenopus (93%).
Component of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF-3) complex, which is required for several steps in the initiation of protein synthesis. The eIF-3 complex associates with the 40S ribosome and facilitates the recruitment of eIF-1, eIF-1A, eIF-2:GTP:methionyl-tRNAi and eIF-5 to form the 43S preinitiation complex (43S PIC). The eIF-3 complex stimulates mRNA recruitment to the 43S PIC and scanning of the mRNA for AUG recognition.
EIF3K antibody [N1C2] detects EIF3K protein at cytoplasm and nucleus by immunofluorescent analysis. HeLa cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min. EIF3K protein stained by EIF3K antibody [N1C2] diluted at 1:500.
