SYCP2 / SCP-2

synaptonemal complex protein 2

Major component of the axial/lateral elements of synaptonemal complexes (SCS) during meiotic prophase. May be involved in the organization of chromatin by temporarily binding to DNA scaffold attachment regions. Requires SYCP3, but not SYCP1, in order to be incorporated into the axial/lateral elements.

Gene Name: synaptonemal complex protein 2
Synonyms: SYCP2, SCP-2, HsSCP2, Synaptonemal complex protein 2
Target Sequences: NM_014258 NP_055073.2 Q9BX26

SYCP2 / SCP-2 Antibody - 1:100 staining human lung tissue by IHC-P. The sample was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The sample was then blocked and incubated with the antibody for 1.5 hours at 22°C. An HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody was used as the secondary.
