SPY1 / SPDYA

speedy/RINGO cell cycle regulator family member A

Regulates the G1/S phase transition of the cell cycle by binding and activating CDK1, CDK2 and CDKN1B/KIP1. Can activate CDK2 without promoting CDK2 phosphorylation. Mediates cell survival during the DNA damage process through activation of CDK2.

Gene Name: speedy/RINGO cell cycle regulator family member A
Synonyms: SPDYA, RINGO3, SPDY1, Speedy homolog 1 (Drosophila), Speedy-1, Speedy protein A, HSpy/Ringo A, RINGO A, RINGOA, SPY1
Target Sequences: NM_182756 NP_877433.2 Q5MJ70
