ROBO4

roundabout, axon guidance receptor, homolog 4 (Drosophila)

Roundabout (Robo) is a class of neural guidance receptors that bind slit ligands and mediated axonal repulsion and inhibition of leukocyte migrations. In addition to neural expression, Robo4 shows expression in endothelial cells of the vasculature, placenta, and tumors. It has been shown to play a role in embryonic angiogenesis. Studies in mice showed expression restricted to endothelial cells.
