MTMR6

myotubularin related protein 6

Myotubularin-related protein 6 (MTMR6), a ), a myotubularin-related phosphatase, has been shown to contain the consensus active site of dual specificity protein phosphatases (DSPs) and to dephosphorylate phosphotidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns3P). Similar to other myotubularin-related proteins, MTMR6 has been shown to possess a SET (Suvar3-9, Enhancer of zeste, trithorax)-interacting domain (SID) which may mediate interactions with SET domains present in chromatin-organizing nuclear proteins. Although the specific function of MTMR6 has not been determined, it is believed to be associated with the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase pathway and membrane trafficking.
