GNAZ

guanine nucleotide binding protein (G protein), alpha z polypeptide

Guanine nucleotide binding protein is a member of a G protein subfamily that mediates signal transduction in pertussis toxin-insensitive systems. GNAZ lacks a pertussis modification site and may play a role in maintaining the ionic balance of perilymphatic and endolymphatic cochlear fluids.

Gene Name: guanine nucleotide binding protein (G protein), alpha z polypeptide
Synonyms: GNAZ, G(x) alpha chain, Transducin alpha, Gz-alpha
Target Sequences: NM_002073 NP_002064.1 P19086
