CRY1

cryptochrome circadian clock 1

CRY1 / Cryptochrome circadian clock 1 encodes a flavin adenine dinucleotide-binding protein that is a key component of the circadian core oscillator complex, which regulates the circadian clock. This gene is upregulated by CLOCK/ARNTL heterodimers but then represses this upregulation in a feedback loop using PER/CRY heterodimers to interact with CLOCK/ARNTL. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with altered sleep patterns. The encoded protein is widely conserved across plants and animals. Loss of the related gene in mouse results in a shortened circadian cycle in complete darkness.

Gene Name: cryptochrome circadian clock 1
Synonyms: CRY1, Chryptochrome 1, Cryptochrome-1, Photolyase homolog 1, PHLL1
Target Sequences: NM_004075 NP_004066.1 Q16526

CRY1 Antibody - IHC analysis of CRY1 using anti-CRY1 antibody. CRY1 was detected in paraffin-embedded section of mouse intestine tissues. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed in citrate buffer (pH6, epitope retrieval solution) for 20 mins. The tissue section was blocked with 10% goat serum. The tissue section was then incubated with 1µg/ml rabbit anti-CRY1 Antibody overnight at 4°C. Biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG was used as secondary antibody and incubated for 30 minutes at 37°C. The tissue section was developed using Strepavidin-Biotin-Complex (SABC) with DAB as the chromogen.
