Purification
Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Bio-Activity
Human Persephin induces RET phosphorylation using a concentration range of 0.1-1.0 ng/ml. Human Persephin binds to mammalian GFRa4 with the Kd of 100pM. Other members of the GDNF family (Artemin, GDNF and Neurturin) do not bind to mammalian GFRa4.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.1 ng/µg of protein (less than 1EU/µg).
Presentation
Sterile filtered, lyophilized from 0.3X PBS, pH 7.2
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Lot# 051143 ONLY: Reconstitute in 5mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.5 to a concentration of = 0.5 mg/ml. Do not vortex. For extended storage it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
Storage
If lyophilized, can be stored for 1 month at room temperature, 6 months at 4°C, or through the expiration date at -20°C to -80°C. Once reconstituted per the supplied instructions, can be stored for 3 months at -20°C to -80°C, or for 1 week at 2°C to 8°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
