Stock solutions should be prepared at no less than 10 µg/mL in sterile buffer (PBS, HPBS, DPBS, and EBSS) containing carrier protein such as 1% BSA or HSA.

Recombinant mouse galectin-3 is able to agglutinate human red blood cells with an ED50 of 2.0 - 8.0 µg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2.5 - 10.0 x 10^5 units/mg.
