Specifications

Description
CD35 (also known as complement receptor type 1, CR1 or complement C3b/C4b receptor) is a membrane-bound protein member of the regulators of complement activation family. It mediates the immune adherence phenomenon; cellular binding to particles/immune complexes with activated complement. It also mediates inhibitory signals in B lymphocytes. CD35 is expressed at the cell surface in erythrocytes, dendritic cells, leukocytes, and podocytes. Polymorphisms and mutations of the CD35 gene have been reported in systemic lupus erythematosus, mesangiocapillary glomerulonephritis, gallbladder carcinoma, and sarcoidosis. Staining is used to identify dendritic cells and follicular dendritic cell tumors. References: Immunol Res. 1987;6(3):192-209. PMID: 2960763; Proc R Soc Med. 1956;49(1):55-58. Specificity
Recognizes CD35, a single chain cell surface glycoprotein which exists in four allotypic forms (A, B, C, D) of 190kD, 220kD, 160kD and 250kD respectively. The molecule is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, B cells and some T cells. Functionally CD35 acts as a receptor for the C3b component of complement. Clone E11 has been reported to be suitable for use in Western Blot.

  • IHC
  • IHC - Paraffin (10 µg/ml)
  • IHC - Frozen (1 - 10 µg/ml)
