LS-F10455 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Pig Fibrinogen in samples of Plasma and Serum. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of Fibrinogen as low as 0.6 nanograms per millilter.
All LSBio Custom kits have been predesigned and all necessary components, including antibodies and standards have been identified. Upon receiving a custom kit order, the kit will be assembled and quality control tested before being shipped out. Kit assembly and testing typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. In most cases the final kit is based on the Sandwich assay principle, with a few being Competitive EIA based. Specifications such as Range, Sensitivity, and Precision are defined upon completion. In the event that the custom kit cannot be successfully developed with 6 weeks of the order date, the customer will be notified and the order canceled at no cost.

Fibrinogen is a soluble glycoprotein that circulates in the blood and is converted to insoluble fibrin by thrombin in the final step of the coagulation cascade. Hepatic expression of fibrinogen increases two to four hundred fold during the acute phase response to infection or inflammation. Elevated fibrinogen levels are correlated with cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis.

Fibrinogen (factor I) is a glycoprotein in vertebrates that helps in the formation of blood clots. It consists of a linear array of three nodules held together by a very thin thread which is estimated to have a diameter between 8 and 15 Angstrom (Å). The two end nodules are alike but the center one is slightly smaller. Measurements of shadow lengths indicate that nodule diameters are in the range 50 to 70 Angstrom. The length of the dried molecule is 475 ± 25 Angstrom.
