Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Human
For the detection and quantification of endogenous levels of natural and/or recombinant Human MIF proteins.
LS-F24614 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Human MIF in samples of Cell Culture Supernatants, Plasma, Serum and Tissue Homogenates. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of MIF as low as 20 picograms per milliliter.
All LSBio Custom kits have been predesigned and all necessary components, including antibodies and standards have been identified. Upon receiving a custom kit order, the kit will be assembled and quality control tested before being shipped out. Kit assembly and testing typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. In most cases the final kit is based on the Sandwich assay principle, with a few being Competitive EIA based. Specifications such as Range, Sensitivity, and Precision are defined upon completion. In the event that the custom kit cannot be successfully developed with 6 weeks of the order date, the customer will be notified and the order canceled at no cost.

Due to their limited shelf life, LSBio ELISA kits are not typically stocked as finished goods. Upon receipt of an order each kit is assembled and tested to ensure that it meets specifications before shipping. Minor changes may occur to the Range, Sensitivity, and Precision. In the event of a significant change the order would be confirmed with the customer before shipping. ELISA kit lot numbers reflect the date of final assembly and testing for each specific kit rather than a bulk manufactured lot. All kits are tested to confirm that they fall within their defined Inter- and Intra- assay coefficient of variation.

Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a protein which in humans is encoded by the MIF gene. This gene is located to human chromosome 22q11.2. It is remarkably small; it has 3 exons separated by introns of only 189 and 95 bp, and covers less than 1 kb. This gene encodes a lymphokine that may be involved in cell-mediated immunity, immunoregulation, and inflammation.5 MIF plays a role in the regulation of macrophage function in host defense through the suppression of anti-inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids. This lymphokine and the JAB1 protein might form a complex in the cytosol near the peripheral plasma membrane, which may possibly indicate a role in integrin signaling pathways. MIF also plays a central role in the toxic response to endotoxemia and possibly septic shock.Macrophage migration inhibitory factor has been reported to interact with COP9 constitutive photomorphogenic homolog subunit 5, CD74, BNIPL, and CXCR4.
Store at 4°C for 6 months or at -20°C for one year. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.

About MIF

MIF Elisa Kit, GLIF Elisa Kit, L-dopachrome tautomerase Elisa Kit, L-dopachrome isomerase Elisa Kit, MMIF Elisa Kit, Phenylpyruvate tautomerase Elisa Kit

Pro-inflammatory cytokine. Involved in the innate immune response to bacterial pathogens. The expression of MIF at sites of inflammation suggests a role as mediator in regulating the function of macrophages in host defense. Counteracts the anti-inflammatory activity of glucocorticoids. Has phenylpyruvate tautomerase and dopachrome tautomerase activity (in vitro), but the physiological substrate is not known.
