LS-F24540 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Human IGFBP7 / TAF in samples of Cell Culture Supernatants, Plasma, Serum and Urine. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of IGFBP7 / TAF as low as 625 picograms per milliliter.

Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IGFBP7 gene. The gene was mapped to chromosome 4q12. The major function of the protein is the regulation of availability of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) in tissue as well as in modulating IGF binding to its receptors. IGFBP7 binds to IGF with high affinity. It also stimulates cell adhesion. The protein is implicated in some cancers.

IGFBP7 / TAF is a member of the insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-binding protein (IGFBP) family. IGFBPs bind IGFs with high affinity, and regulate IGF availability in body fluids and tissues and modulate IGF binding to its receptors. This protein binds IGF-I and IGF-II with relatively low affinity, and belongs to a subfamily of low-affinity IGFBPs. It also stimulates prostacyclin production and cell adhesion.
