All kits are tested to confirm that they fall within their defined Inter- and Intra- assay coefficient of variation.

This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for MAU has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated MAU. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between MAU (Standards or samples) and HRP-conjugated MAU with the pre-coated antibody specific for MAU. The more amount of MAU in samples, the less antibody bound by HRP-conjugated MAU. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of MAU in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
