LS-F10111 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Bovine Bovine IgG in samples of Cell Culture Supernatants, Plasma, Serum and Tissue Homogenates. It is based upon a Competitive EIA assay principle and can be used to detect levels of Bovine IgG as low as 9.4 micrograms per millilter.

This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with bovine IgG. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody specific for bovine IgG. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of bovine IgG in samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

About Bovine IgG
Representing approximately 75% of serum antibodies, IgG is the most common type of antibody found in the circulation. IgG molecules are created and released by plasma B cells. IgG antibodies are large molecules of about 150 kDa made of four peptide chains. It contains two identical class gamma heavy chains of about 50 kDa and two identical light chains of about 25 kDa. The two heavy chains are linked to each other and to a light chain each by disulfide bonds.
