Description: Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a bioactive lipid that exhibits a broad spectrum of biological activities including cell proliferation, survival, migration, cytoskeletal organization, and morphogenesis. It exerts its activity by binding to five distinct G protein-coupled receptors, S1P1/EDG-1, S1P2/EDG-5, S1P3/EDG-3, S1P4/EDG-6, and S1P5/EDG-8. ML-031 is one of the first indentified agonists of S1P2 demonstrating an EC50 value of 1 µM in a S1P reporter assay.
ML-031 is supplied as a crystalline solid. A stock solution may be made by dissolving the ML-031 in the solvent of choice. ML-031 is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and DMSO, which should be purged with an inert gas. The solubility of ML-031 in these solvents is approximately 5 mg/ml.
