A 13 AA peptide sequence near the C-Terminus of rat VMAT2 (1). This peptide is predicted to be cytoplasmic. The peptide was synthesized with N-Terminus Cysteine, coupled to KLH.

Specificity
Recognizes rat VMAT2. Does not recognize VMAT1 in transfected cells. The rat VMAT2 sequence is 92% homologous with hVMAT2 (12/13 aa; with just 1 conservative amino acid change) and has no appreciable homology with the C-terminus of VMAT1.

- Western blot (1:1000 - 1:5000)
- ELISA (1:10000 - 1:50000)
Usage
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 for neat serum and 1-10 ug/ml for affinity pure using ECL. A band of 95-110kD has been detected in brush border membrane. ELISA:1:10000-1:50000 for neat serum and 0.5-1 ug/ml for affinity purified. Control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1 ug/ml.
