SLC18A2 / VMAT2 antibody was raised against synthetic peptide [C-QSYPIGDDEESESD-OH] from the C-terminus of rat VMAT2 conjugated to BSA. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Rat, Elephant, Dog, Horse (100%); Human, Marmoset, Panda (93%); Mouse, Bat, Bovine, Turkey, Chicken (86%).
Recognizes rat VMAT2. Recognizes monoaminergic neurons of the CNS, the ECL-cells of the stomach, as well as enteric nerve fibers. Absorption with 10-100 ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. Species cross-reactivity: Guinea pig (in fundus tissue, only positive on nerve fibers; endocrine cells are negative); most mammals including human, canine, mouse, hamster, as well as chicken and frog. Negative with porcine intestinal tissue.
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections): 1:800-1:1200 using FITC. Incubation time overnight at 4?C. Absorption with 10-100 ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. Dilute after reconstitution with 0.15 M PBS, 1% BSA and 0.1% sodium azide. Positive control: Frozen sections of rat small intestine.
