Description
Pyroglutamylated RFamide peptide receptor (QRFPR, GPR103) is a G-protein coupled receptor that binds neuropeptides such as P518 (and the longer form, QRFP) in the brain. It is mediated by G proteins that modulate adenylate cyclase activity and intracellular calcium levels, and it regulates adrenal function via QRFP/P518. In immunohistochemistry, it has membranous and cytoplasmic positivity in the hypothalamus, kidney, thyroid, reproductive tissues, and pancreas and has lower levels of expression in a few other tissues.
