Specificity
Excellent for detection of transcription activity, e. g. puffs in polytene chromosomes. Reacts with RNA polymerase II (Mr 175000 subunit of RNAP II) in biological materials. Reactive polypeptides after SDS-PAGE: 200kD band of non-phosphorylated and 240kD band of phosphorylated Pol IIA. Reactivities on Cultured Cell Lines (tested so far): Drosophila chromosomes, PTK-2, HeLa, Hep2. Epitope recognized: 794DDYGPESRGFVENSYLA822. Species cross-reactivity: Human, insects.

Usage
Suitable for use in Western Blot (Western) and Immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue). Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 (recommended fixation conditions for cells: incubate in 2% paraformaldehyde in PBS for 10 min, wash in PBS for 5 min, incubate in 0.2% Triton X-100 in PBS for 5 min, wash in PBS for 5 min). Incubation Time 1 hr at RT.

May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
