Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Immunogen
MITF antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 301-312 (PSTGLCSPDLVN) of itf. GenBank no. gi|1092105|prf||2022321A. The peptide immunogen sequence is 100% conserved between human, mouse, rat, pig and dog. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat, Dog, Hamster, Panda, Horse, Rabbit, Pig, Platypus (100%); Bovine, Elephant, Opossum, Turkey, Xenopus (92%); Bat, Goat, Chicken (83%).
Epitope
aa301-312
Specificity
Mitf produces, by alternative splicing, 10 different transcripts, all with introns, putatively encoding 10 different protein isoforms. Therefore, observed molecular weights may vary depending on MITF isoforms expressed. Users are encouraged to utilize the peptide immunogen sequence to gain further information about the isoforms recognized by the antibody.
Presentation
PBS, 0.05% Sodium Azide, 0.2% Gelatin
Storage
Short term: 4°C; Long term: -70°C.
Restrictions
For research use only.
About MITF
Transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes with essential roles in cell differentiation, proliferation and survival. Binds to symmetrical DNA sequences (E-boxes) (5'-CACGTG-3') found in the promoters of target genes, such as BCL2 and tyrosinase (TYR). Plays an important role in melanocyte development by regulating the expression of tyrosinase (TYR) and tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TYRP1). O75030 NM_000248 NP_000239.1
