Description
Lysophosphatidic acid receptor 6 (LPAR6) is a receptor that binds oleoyl-L-alpha-lysophosphatidic acid (LPA). LPAR6 activation involves intracellular cAMP. LPAR6 is important for the maintenance of hair growth and texture. In immunohistochemistry, most glandular and epithelial cells in various tissues throughout the body show membranous positivity for LPAR6. It has highest expression in the lung, gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, kidney, reproductive tissues and immune tissues, and is also found throughout the central nervous system.
