IL17A

interleukin 17A

IL17A is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis.

Gene Name: interleukin 17A
Family/Subfamily: Interleukin
Synonyms: IL17A, CTLA-8, CTLA8, Interleukin-17A, Interleukin 17A, IL-17, IL-17A, IL17
Target Sequences: NM_002190 NP_002181.1 Q16552

IL17A Antibody - Anti-IL-17A Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of anti-IL-17A antibody shows detection of rat recombinant IL-17A protein (lane 1). Approximately 2 ug of recombinant protein was loaded onto the gel. Primary antibody was used at a 1:1000 dilution. The membrane was washed and reacted with a 1:20000 dilution of DyLight 649 conjugated Gt-a-Rabbit IgG (. Molecular weight estimation was made by comparison to prestained MW markers indicated at the left. Other detection systems will yield similar results.
