The entire extracellular domain (corresponding to residues 1-429) of the rat TrkB receptor, expressed in COS cells.

Recognizes rat TrkB, Mr 145kD, as well as an additional protein, Mr ~90kD, which is likely a TrkB degradation product. Species sequence homology: mouse 97% and human 88%.

Immunohistochemistry: LS-B2544 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B2544 was determined to be 10 ug/ml. Western Blot: 0.5-2 ug/ml detected TrkB in mouse brain membrane protein preparations.
