Specificity
Recognizes feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) p24, the ~24kD capsid protein which forms the conical core of the virus and encapsulates the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex. Has been used successfully for the detection of p24 in FIV infected dendritic cells by immunocytochemistry and detection of both recombinant p24 and p24 from virally infected cell cultures by western blotting (Reggeti and Bienzle 2008).
