Description
NSE (neuron-specific enolase, ENO2) is a metalloenzyme involved in neural tissue development. In immunohistochemistry, NSE is a positive marker for neurons and neuroendocrine cells, and it is also positive in islets of Langerhans of the pancreas. In cancers, it is positive in neuroendocrine tumors such as carcinoid and schwannoma. NSE is a useful marker of disease status and prognosis in small-cell lung cancer, prostate cancer and acute lymphoblastic leukemia where elevated levels may indicate progression.

Usage
Immunohistochemistry: LS-B2890 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B2890 was determined to be 20 ug/ml.
