Unconjugated
Purification
Immunoaffinity purified
Immunogen
Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from a region of human -catenin that contains serine 45. The sequence is conserved in mouse, rat and frog.
Specificity
Human -catenin. Mouse, rat and frog -catenin (100% homologous) have not been tested, but are expected to react.
Applications
- Western blot (1:1000 - 1:2000)
- ELISA
Usage
The antibody has been used for Western blotting applications. b-catenin (92kD) is a multifunctional protein involved in cell-cell adhesion, intracellular. signaling and gene transcription. b-catenin plays a key role in the Wnt pathway which mediates numerous developmental processes. Deregulation of the Wnt pathway results in the accumulation of b-catenin in the nucleus. Stabilizing mutations of several serine/threonine residues (more frequently of serine 45) have been found in multiple tumors. Phosphorylation of b-catenin on serine 45 by casein kinase I (CKI) primes its subsequent phosphorylation of residues 33, 37 and 41 by glycogen synthase-3b (GSK-3b) and results in its degradation. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000.
