CCK4 / PTK7 antibody was raised against recombinant full length protein of human PTK7

Western blot analysis of PTK7 expression in HepG2 (A), Jurkat (B), mouse liver (C), rat testis (D) whole cell lysates. Immunohistochemical analysis of PTK7 staining in human brain formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

PTK7, a CCK4 membrane spanning tyrosine protein kinase, belongs to a subgroup of kinases that lack detectable catalytic tyrosine kinase activity but retain roles in signal transduction. PTK7 may function as a cell adhesion molecule. This gene was isolated from carcinomic colon tissue and has been suggested to affect colon carcinoma physiology. Expression of PTK7 has been shown to be reduced in melanoma samples.
