Human (tested or 100% immunogen sequence identity)
XRCC2 antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide derived from the N-terminus of human XRCC2 protein.
Reacts with a 32 kD protein, known as XRCC2 (X-Ray Cross Complementing 2). XRCC2 is essential for repairing the double strand DNA breaks by homologous recombination between sister chromatids. It is homologous to Rad1. Five human homologues of RAD 51; XRCC2, XRCC3, RAD51B, RAD51C, RAD51D, interact among themselves to form one big complex or several smaller complexes.

XRCC2 Antibody, DNA repair protein XRCC2 AntibodyInvolved in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway of double-stranded DNA, thought to repair chromosomal fragmentation, translocations and deletions. Part of the Rad21 paralog protein complex BCDX2 which acts in the BRCA1-BRCA2-dependent HR pathway. Upon DNA damage, BCDX2 acts downstream of BRCA2 recruitment and upstream of RAD51 recruitment. BCDX2 binds predominantly to the intersection of the four duplex arms of the Holliday junction and to junction of replication forks.
