  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

Vimentin antibody was raised against vimentin purified from porcine eye lens.
Recognizes vimentin, a 57kD molecule that forms part of the cytoskeleton of non-epithelial cells. It is expressed by a range of cell types including smooth muscle cells from blood vessel walls, astrocytes and various cell lines. The antibody may be used to recognize tumors of mesenchymal origin such as sarcoma and lymphoma. Clone V9 is reported as being suitable for use in Western blotting. XXX has not confirmed this work.
Immunohistology: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.

Tissue Culture Supernatant, PBS, 0.09% sodium azide, 1% BSA.
+4°C or -20°C, Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

About Vimentin

P08670 NM_003380 NP_003371.2

VIM Antibody, Vimentin Antibody

Vimentin is a member of the intermediate filament family. Intermediate filamentents, along with microtubules and actin microfilaments, make up the cytoskeleton. The protein encoded by this gene is responsible for maintaining cell shape, integrity of the cytoplasm, and stabilizing cytoskeletal interactions. It is also involved in the immune response, and controls the transport of low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-derived cholesterol from a lysosome to the site of esterification.
