Services
  • Immunohistochemistry Services

  • Work with LifeSpan to design a custom immunohistochemistry to address your specific biological question. Outsource the entire localization process without having to worry about finding and characterizing target specific antibodies, sourcing and validating difficult-to-find tissues, and having the ability to interpret the resulting immunostaining in relation to complex human pathologies.

  • TCR Screening Services

  • Test your therapeutic antibodies in immunohistochemistry against a broad panel of normal frozen human tissue types in order to determine potential unintended binding. Our non-GLP TCR services are designed on the FDA recommendation outlined in their "Points to Consider in the Manufacture and Testing of Monoclonal Antibody Products for Human Use".

Specificity and Use

VCAM1 / CD106 antibody was raised against rat CD106-transfected L5178Y cells.
Recognizes rat CD106, otherwise known as VCAM-1 (vascular adhesion molecule 1), a 110kD inducible type I transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin supergene family, which is predominantly expressed on vascular endothelium, and also on bone marrow stromal cells, follicular dendritic cells and some macrophages. CD106 interacts with the lymphocyte homing receptor VLA-4 (alpha4 beta1 integrin) and LPAM-1 (alpha4 beta7 integrin) and mediates leucocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction. Expression of CD106 is upregulated following cytokine activation, and endothelial CD106 plays a role in the extravasation of leucocytes from blood vessels during inflammation.
The applications listed have been tested for the unconjugated form of this product. Other forms have not been tested.

About VCAM1 / CD106

VCAM1 Antibody, CD106 Antibody, CD106 antigen Antibody, INCAM-100 Antibody, V-CAM 1 Antibody, VCAM-1 Antibody

Vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, VCAM-1, is a surface glycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium that mediates the adhesion of monocytes and lymphocytes. VCAM-1 and integrin alpha-4-beta-1 facilitate a critical cell-cell adhesion event required for survival of endothelial and mural cells during vascularization. Studies of heart development have shown that deficiencies of VCAM and in alpha-4 integrin also result in epicardial dissolution and subsequent myocardial thinning.
